This is a secluded romantic retreat for two, set in two acres, with a large lake, wildlife and a waterfall right outside the french doors by the suntrap of a natural stone patio and manicured lawn to the margins of the lake.
If you wish to come to a complete standstill, chilling out on the terrace by the waterfall is favourite, with a bottle of wine and a good book. Lakeside is a secluded wildlife haven of waterside marginals, dragonflies, butterflies, damselflies, moorhens, buzzards, rabbits and squirrels. At dawn the occasional kingfisher and heron fish off the handrail of the ‘Monet’ style Japanese bridge to the island, dusk brings out the little bats which swoop over the lake, nightfall the wary foxes, owls and badgers.
Lakeside Cottage comprises a hallway and four rooms; a sitting room with a squashy, leather chaise-longue sofa, an inglenook log-and-coal open gas fire; a bedroom with a king- size woven flax bed (Vi-spring mattress) and matching sofa with footstool; an en-suite with an amazing steam/shower/whirlpool bath cabinet and a well fitted kitchen with matching granite worktop and flooring. All main rooms have large windows giving panoramic views of the lake and grounds and the central heating is a cosy combination of radiators and underfloor heating for all year letting.
